I took some portraits at the Portland Alterego Society's annual Ceasefire party which benefits p:ear. Here are some of the portraits. I'd love to hear what you think!
Thanks Kelli, It was one sb600 in a shoot through as key to camera right with one bare vivitar 285 behind as a backlight.
I was really hoping to find a cleaner background, but the party was at a dance studio so I tried to get as far as possible away from the walls of mirrors.
Not at all. In fact, I kind of dig it. Superheroes would totally not be kicking ass in sterile locations, so I think it gives a little more "story" to the shot.
These are great! Thanks so much for coming & taking these super photos. Hope you had fun while you were there. I'm only sorry I didn't stop to get a portrait myself.

Oh gosh, I love seeing each personality/alterego.
What was your light set-up?

Does the background distract you?

If we could get a group of superheroes together again, I'm pretty certain I could be persuaded to shoot more portraits. Just sayin.
